Displaced persons are often denied the right to education, and higher education remains a distant aspiration for most: less than 6% of refugees are enrolled in higher education. Even once they have completed their studies, other barriers to accessing higher education arise, such as the need to contribute financially to family support or limited capacity to recognise credentials or prior learning. Their right to access an education is violated.
