Executive Council-RIES and GSI

The Executive Council plays a crucial role in overseeing our research program, ensuring that it aligns closely with the objectives set forth by the UNESCO Chair on Coastal Geo-Hazard Analysis (UCCGHA). This Committee provides essential advice and guidance to the chair holder, facilitating the effective management of the Chair’s initiatives. One of its primary responsibilities includes the approval of annual activity reports, which summarize the past year’s achievements and challenges, as well as endorsing any significant changes to the budget that may arise throughout the year. In addition to these financial responsibilities, the Committee is tasked with the review and modification of the Chair’s objectives as needed to ensure they remain relevant and attainable. Furthermore, the Executive Council is responsible for approving the annual planning of both research and dissemination activities, ensuring that these plans are strategically aligned with the Chair’s overarching goals. Additionally, the Council evaluates and approves the scientific program proposed by the Scientific Council, thereby ensuring that all scientific endeavors are rooted in the vision and mission of the Chair. Through these actions, the Executive Council fundamentally supports the advancement and success of the research initiatives under the Chair’s purview.
