Geo-Hazards workshop Armenia 2025 with global experts

International Training Workshop in Armenia from August 5-7, 2025,

Geo-Hazards take center stage in Armenia from August 5-7, 2025. This international training workshop brings together geologists and ecologists from leading institutions in Armenia, France, and Iran, exploring Lake Sevan, Aragatsotn Crater, and the Southern Peak in a unique blend of fieldwork and cultural heritage studies.

focusing on Geo-Hazards and Geo-Archaeology. Activities will include visits to Lake Sevan and the Aragatsotn Crater, featuring a climb to the Southern Peak.

Participants comprise geologists and ecologists from the Institute of Geological Science (IGS) of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, the French National Research Center (CNRS) at Montpellier University, École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS DE LYON), Intelligent Geo-Mine Co Ltd. (IGM), and the Research Institute for Earth Sciences (RIES) of the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI), in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair on Coastal Geo-Hazard Analysis (UCCGHA).
